The Texas Trader at War With His Electric Company Over Power Poles

Utility companies are working to mitigate both risk and liability in wildfires caused by an aging electrical system. Climate change, along with aging utility poles, some up to 90 years old, are to blame for some of the most recent catastrophic wildfires, and states are still trying to figure out how to manage the risk. As one utility executive put it, “It’s not a matter of if we’re behind.
